Staying in Stamford CT right now, trying to get to our hotel in NYC without driving. Is it possible to take a train from Stamford into Grand Central Station?

The mta website doesn’t seem to have quite enough available information to plan my trip, and it seems like the line stops at Harlem. Is this true or can we take the train the whole way in? http://mta.info/mnr/html/mnrmap.htm

Do I need to make transfers? How long does it take? How much does it cost?

That trip by train takes one hour. Actually I want to travel from grand central to Port Chester, which is a shorter distance. But when I looked up the information, the travel time is longer, eventhough grand central to Port Chester is a shorter distance away that to Stamford. If anyone has information about it, please write to me. Thanks!

We want to be close enough to NYC but i understand the closer you are the more expensive it is. We have a 2 year old so good schools are definately a must. And of course we want to buy a home soon hopefully something for about $350,000. the most. Is this realistic?

I need to get from Stamford to Laguardia Airport, so I will be taking Metro North train from Stamford to Harlem 125th street. Then I need to look for the M60 bus to take me to Laguardia. Is the bus stop easy to find when coming off the train? Any details on how to get to this bus stop would be greatly appreciated. I am unfamiliar with the area.
